Yokai Tile Match (the "Game") is made by Digital Jinja ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Game uses, where it goes, and the choices you have.

The short version: we don't ask who you are, we don't run analytics, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. Your progress lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, which we cannot read.

1. Information stored on your device

The Game saves your progress and settings on your device: levels, stars, coins, boosters, hearts, your collection, wardrobe choices, and settings such as language and sound. It also keeps a list of completed purchase transaction IDs so that each purchase is delivered exactly once. This information stays on your device and is removed when you delete the Game.

2. iCloud save

If you're signed in to iCloud, the Game saves a copy of your progress to the private database of your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so you can continue on another device. Only you can access this data; we cannot see, read or change it. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy.

To delete it: on your iPhone, Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage (or Storage) > Yokai > Delete Data.

3. Mailbox and notifications

The Game reads news and gift messages that we publish in the Game's public CloudKit database. This only downloads messages; it does not send us anything about you.

If you allow notifications, Apple's push notification service delivers a short alert when a new message is published. To do this, Apple stores a notification subscription linked to an anonymous, app-specific identifier that Apple generates. It does not include your name, email address or Apple Account details. You can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings > Notifications.

4. Game Center

If you're signed in to Game Center, the Game sends your scores and achievements to Apple's Game Center. Your Game Center nickname, scores and rank may be shown to other players on leaderboards, including on the Game's home screen. Game Center is operated by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy, and you can sign out in iPhone Settings > Game Center.

5. In-app purchases

All payments are processed by Apple. We never receive your name, payment card or billing details. The Game receives only the transaction information Apple provides (which product was bought, when, and a transaction ID) so it can deliver your purchase and restore subscriptions.

6. Updates and downloaded content

When the Game starts, it may:

  • ask Apple's App Store whether a newer version is available (this sends only the Game's identifier), and
  • download updated game content (yokai data, pictures and translations) from our content server.

Like any web server, our hosting provider may record standard technical information such as your IP address and the time of the request in its logs. We don't use these logs to identify you.

7. Advertising

Version 1.0 does not contain any active third-party advertising or tracking. The "ads" in the Game are our own full-screen promotions for the Yokai Pass. Watching one for a reward is always optional.

If we add a third-party ad network in a future version, we will update this policy before that version is released, describe what is collected, and ask for your permission where the law or Apple requires it (for example, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt).

8. What we don't do

  • We don't require an account, email address or login.
  • We don't use analytics or crash-reporting services of our own.
  • We don't sell, rent or share personal information.
  • We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

9. Children

The Game is suitable for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Parents can manage purchases with Screen Time or Ask to Buy. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK and California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you. Because we don't hold personal information about players, most requests can be handled directly on your device and in your iCloud settings (sections 1–2). If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and we will delete it on request.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the Game's mailbox.
